A wedding dress can be large expense. Some even spend thousands of dollars on such a creation, and with all of the other expenses of a wedding, you may want to save money any way you can. Consider the following ideas.
Buy a sample
Oftentimes Bridal stores will sell samples at a fraction of the cost of their regular dresses. These are still usually new dresses, which have never been worn to a wedding. They may have just been the dress in the store that others tried on just like someone might have tried on other clothes that you buy. When the styles change or if a sample is just older they may price it to sell. You will also find other dresses on clearance racks as well.
Look online
There are many places online where you can buy wedding dresses for much less. For instance, you will find many dresses on ebay, sold by both businesses and individuals. You can search by keyword for a specific dress or you can browse through categories of the type of dress that you would like.
Look for a pre-owned wedding gown
Oftentimes a pre-owned wedding dress means that it was worn for only one day. Most clothes still seem like new after only a day of use! Because of it, however you might pay only 10% of a gown’s original purchase price. Because so many people are set on needing a new gown, those that are pre-owned command greatly reduced price tags in general. You can find these at second-hand shops and online in sources like ebay.
Look for a less expensive store
It can make a very large difference where you buy the dress. A lot of stores mark up wedding dresses tremendously, thus there are great deals to be had at stores that do not mark them up as much. Group USA is one store that is very reasonable. Even Target online has some simple dresses that can be used as wedding gowns.
Look for sales
Many wedding dress stores have sales, and you can save a great deal of money this way. These range depending on the store.
Rent the dress
If you do not feel like you want to store a dress anyways, then consider renting a dress. You can get a beautiful gown for hardly anything that you wear and then return.
A wedding gown is very special, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up a year’s salary. Consider the above strategies to help you save.
