Target can be a fantastic place to buy many items. With a multitude of everyday and seasonal products they have items for every room of the house. Most people can find most things they need for their everyday lives at these gigantic stores. There are some things that you can do in order to make your shopping experience there even better. Familiarize yourself with the products
If you are new to shopping at Target, you might want to spend a few hours going up and down the aisles to familiarize yourself with the products that they carry. You will find many different items that will be useful to you. There are different sizes to Target stores. They now have larger Targets that have an entire grocery section in them. These will have bakeries and other departments like a grocery store (although they might not have quite the same selection as some of the largest grocery stores). Others only have limited groceries.
Consider Target’s own brand
Up & Up is Target’s own brand, and there are others throughout the store. You can often save a lot of money by purchasing the off brand and get a very similar product.
Be aware of the prices
The prices at Target do change. You will want to be aware of this to make sure that you are getting a good deal. It may be worth it to stock up on items if they are at a lower price or to hold off if they are at a higher price. Also, they have sales constantly throughout the store. These are other opportunities where you can save. They do not generally have a lot of their own coupons, but they accept many manufacturers’ coupons. One exception is that they often have a coupon for a free $10 gift card with a new or transferred prescription. This can end up saving you a lot of money.
Know their return policy. You want to familiarize yourself with their return policy. In general they require either a receipt or the credit card upon which the purchase was made, and time is limited. They will now let you return up to $70 of merchandise a year without these items on your driver’s license.
Work the clearance
Target has amazing clearance. They have it after the holidays and on many other items throughout the store. You will find it at many endcaps, mixed in with the other products and in special sections after a holiday or when they have a lot. They start their clearance lower at 15%, 30% or even at 50%. They will gradually make the discounts deeper, and sometimes go to 90% off. You can save a lot of money, especially on seasonal items that you might be able to store for next year or use at other times.
