Buy from discount stores
Many discount stores sell organic food. One such store is Costco. They sell items such as a large bag of organic blueberries for approximately $7, much less than you would get at other sources. They also sell organic juice boxes, organic milk, organic vegetables and many other organic products. You might have to buy some of the items in bulk, but if you have a family to feed, then this might be okay.
Join a co-op of organic food
In many towns, they have co-ops in which you pay a certain amount of money to get a share of some crops. Some of these might be organic. This might be more reasonable than the organic food at your traditional grocery store.
Look for sales and coupons
Just like traditional food goes on sales and has coupons come out, so does organic food. You will find different sales, some of which can be substantial. A lot of grocery stores offer buy one get one offers, which can save a lot of money. Also, a lot of products have a lot of coupons such as organic baby food. In addition, you can look for hidden discounts at different stores. For instance, Whole Foods Market, which has a lot of organic food, offers case discounts if you buy a certain amount of one product. You can save this on very common items such as milk and baby food.
Buy from a Farmer’s Market
If you have a farmer’s market near you, then you might be able to buy food that was grown organically but isn’t too expensive. Many times the sellers at farmer’s markets will be very reasonable in their prices, so if they use organic practices, this could be a good resource.
It is very healthy to feed your family organic food. Consider the above tips to help you save money while doing so.
