Heat
Heat can be extremely helpful in getting rid of a sinus headache. It can relax the muscles and make you feel calmer. Take a shower and let your head rest underneath the hot water. You can also get a warm compress.
Breathe in steam
Steam helps clear out nostril passages and may help to alleviate a sinus headache. You can purchase a special machine that produces steam for you to inhale. Alternatively, you can go into the bathroom while the hot water is running. If you take a hot shower, then you will get both the benefits of the hot water on your head and the steam as well.
Alternate hot and cold
You can also try to relieve your sinus passages by alternating hot and cold. Alternate putting a hot compress and a cold pack on your nose where it hurts, each for a few minutes. Do it again and again to see if it helps.
Spicy foods
Your sinus headache may be helped if you can clear your nasal passages. One way to do this is to eat some spicy food. You can have a spicy meal or eat a pepper or something else small and spicy just for the occasion.
