You may love the size, shape, and features of your purse but you do not love the outside. If you feel that you have a plain purse, do not give it up. Instead you can conduct a DIY project to give style to a boring purse.
Break out the paints and decorate your purse. Even if you are not an artist, you still might be able to add a few pretty colors or flowers to give it that something special. You can buy a stencil kit. If you follow the directions, these usually come out without too much difficulty.
Of course you could also get someone else to paint it for you if you know an artist. Make sure to get paints that are made for the fabric or whatever material covers the purse. You want permanent paints that will not wash away in the rain.
If you do not want to paint with a brush, buy some paint in accordion tubs that are easy to apply. A lot of these come with extra embellishments such as glitter.
Alternatively, you can use markers to decorate the purse. This might be easier than painting. You can use a Sharpie Marker or look for something just for that fabric.
For something very simple, you can tie a scarf or a piece of fabric to the purse. Simply get a pretty piece of fabric. It can be a plain color or have a unique print. You can also get something with sequins or rhinestones. Tie it on to the rings or straps of the purse.
You can also add your own embellishments to the bag. Use a hot glue gun, sew on the embellishments or find another type of adhesive that is specifically made for the type of material out of which the purse is made. If you like sparkle, then add some Swarovski crystals or sequins. For something fun you can add different types of fabric or even feathers. You can also add ribbon or lace for something sweet. You can put on one of these items in a small corner or you can cover every single inch of the purse with embellishments. Before actually attaching them, lay the pieces on the purse so you know what it will look like before you commit.
