When looking for a toy for your 2-year-old, make certain to get something that is age appropriate. Because 2-year-olds will sometimes still put things in their mouths, toys that have small parts can become choking hazards. No matter which toy you choose, make sure that the box specifically says it is appropriate for this young age, no matter how innocuous it looks. Your 2-year-old may enjoy one of the following products.
Dolls
Dolls are extremely popular for 2-year-old kids. Even though they are so young, they are still ready to be little mommies and daddies. You can get him or her a tiny baby doll that she he or she can feed and cuddle. Some of these will make sounds when a button is pushed. A lot of them will drink and wet, which is perfect if you are trying to potty train your child.

Your tiny one may be ready to start his or her own band. They sell many instruments alone and in sets for little kids. These may include electronic guitars that light up and make sounds. They also make tambourines and many different types of shakers. You can put on music and let your little one join in on the fun.
Building blocks
With simple wooden building blocks, your child can create countless masterpieces of imagination. He or she can build forts, walls and castles. Many of these blocks have letters, numbers and pictures on each of the sides, which makes them a great educational tool as well. These are generally inexpensive and easily stored.
Toy phone
If your child is always reaching for your cell phone, then get him or her one. They make many kids phones that ring, light up and make noises.
