Exercising when Busy

(471 Words)
No matter how busy you are, there are many good reasons to incorporate exercise into your lifestyle (not the least of which are good health and well-being). Following are different ways that you can fit it in.
Many people find it the easiest to simply get up a little early and exercise first thing in the morning. If you make it the plan that you will exercise right away then you will not have anything else intruding on your schedule. You will not have to worry that other things on your schedule will take too long since it is the first thing you do. Also, you can wake up before other people are up so you will not have to worry about catering to the needs of others. This can be great for a busy mom who will be busy with her children for the rest of the day. It can get the exercise off of your plate and give you a great start to your day.
Some people do the opposite and exercise late at night. You might want to wait until everything else is done for the day so that you do not need to worry about anything else intruding. If you are a parent, you may wait until your children are asleep for the day so that you do not have to worry about them. Be careful if you have insomnia because exercising late may exacerbate this.
It is good to exercise 30 minutes a day, however, you do not need to do all of your exercising at the same time. As long as you get 10 minutes of cardio in at a time, you can stack these sessions on top of each other. You may never have 30 minutes in one span but you may have 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there so that you can do your exercising.
You may not have time that you can dedicate just to exercising, however you may be able to get around this by multitasking. For instance, if you are very busy with school and have a ton to read then you can read while you are exercising on a stationary bike. You can also read for your job or come up with ideas and save them into a voice recorder. Depending on the exercise you are doing you can even possibly make phone calls.
Some busy people can even fit in exercising to their lunch hour. If you have to take a full hour for lunch but it only takes you 15 minutes to eat then you might be able to run to a nearby gym and get in an exercise session.
Just because you’re busy, you do not have to give up your exercise routine. Try the above methods to fit in exercise to a hectic lifestyle.
