A rainy day means that your jogging, bicycling and swimming exercises may not happen. Many people do not want to skip a day of exercise just because they cannot do their regular routine. Some people have cable channels that play free aerobics videos. You do not need any other equipment to do them, and you only need a little space in your home and a television and DVD player, which most people already have.
There are practically countless numbers of fitness DVDs, made for people of all different skill levels. You can get one that exactly matches where you are in your exercise routine. You can find many programs that allow you to get cardiovascular exercise that will keep your heart rate up for a prolonged amount of time. Many of these also incorporate weight training that can work out your abs, arms, legs, chest, and other areas.
You can buy a DVD that focuses on a particular area or get an all-around one. The instructors range greatly in style so if you look around you are likely to find something that you like. They also make many that have unique features such as exercises that incorporate dance and kick boxing.
Many people also have exercise equipment in their homes that allows them to get cardiovascular exercise as well as muscle building exercises. For instance, you can run on a treadmill, ride an exercise bike or use an elliptical trainer while it is raining outside. All of these can get your heart rate up just like the exercises outdoors. You can also have a weight machine or free weights to allow you to work out your muscles.
If it is raining too hard for you to exercise outdoors, but not hard enough that you can’t drive somewhere then you can go to the gym on a rainy day. If you are part of a gym then you will be able to exercise in whatever they offer such as aerobics classes, weight machines and even an indoor pool if they have one and it is not lightning outside.
