How to Choose the right Wedding Day Accessories

(494 Words)
There are many accessories that you may wear for your wedding day look, including gloves, hair accessories, jewelry, a shawl, a cape, an umbrella and more. Each may seem great, but if you keep adding and adding, at some point it will be too much. You should look for the following signs that you are wearing too many accessories.
You take the focus off of your wedding dress
Most women feel that their wedding dress is the most important part of their wedding day look. It may be the most special piece of clothing you’ll ever wear and you may have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on it. You may love it and want to show it off in all of its glory. If you look in the mirror, however, and you notice the jewelry and accessories on top of it instead of the dress itself, then you may want to remove some of the accessories. If you find that some of the beadwork, appliqué, crystals, or other important elements of the dress are now hidden behind the accessories, then take the excess accessories off so that you can see the dress.
It is uncomfortable
Too many accessories may be uncomfortable. You want to enjoy your wedding day and not feel bogged down with heavy accessories. You do not want a belt that feels too tight, a clunky necklace that weighs down your neck or a voluminous hair accessory that will snag your hair. If you find that you are wearing so much that you are uncomfortable, take some off.
It simply looks like too much
Look in the mirror and evaluate how everything looks together. Each piece may have looked beautiful when you tried it on and bought it from the store, however, when you add it up, it may simply be too much. One good way to tell is to try removing pieces of jewelry and then look at yourself in the mirror. If you find that you look better without the accessory, then you should exclude it from your wedding day look.
If you have trouble deciding what is too much because you have simply been staring at yourself in the mirror for too long, then consider taking a picture, changing into another outfit and then looking at the picture in a little while. You may have a better judgment by seeing it when your eyes are fresh.
You can also ask others to help you decide if you are wearing too many accessories. Sometimes you can get a little overwhelming and you may have difficulty judging for yourself. Others may be able to give you their opinions, but remember that you are the bride and ultimately you should make your own choice.
Do not wear too many accessories on your wedding day. You should not be afraid to exclude something even if you have already paid for it. You want to look your best on the special day.
