How to Vary your Exercise Routine

(416 Words)
It is good to vary your exercise routine for both mental and physical reasons. This can help you both keep to your exercise routine and get a more effective one.
Change things up
You might find your exercise routine to be more interesting when you vary it. It can be very boring to do the same thing again and again. This is especially true since many of the exercises such as running on a treadmill or riding an exercise bike are very repetitive to begin with. You may enjoy your exercise routine more when you do different things. You may find that the time goes faster.
Like what you’re doing
It is important to like your exercise routine. You may be more likely to stick with it when you enjoy it. You may look forward to it instead of dreading it and eventually stopping because you find it so boring.
Physical benefits
Varying your exercise also provides a physical benefit. There are so many different muscle groups and each type of exercise works out a certain set of them. When you keep the same routine, you may always be working out the same exact muscles but not utilizing the others. It is very important to work the different muscles in your body because that will provide the most benefit.
Creates a better workout
By varying your exercise routine you will also be exposed to new exercises, some of which might be better for you or provide a better workout. When you only stick with the same thing then you won’t get to try out these new things.
When you vary your exercise routine you will get the benefits of all of the different types of exercises. For instance, you may want to meet others who are fitness minded to exercise with and you can do this while in an exercise class. You also may find an exercise class motivational. At other times you may want to have some time when you can run to enjoy the beauty of nature. You can fulfill that need by taking a jog through a park. You can always look for new opportunities to enjoy your exercise routine.
There are many advantages to varying your exercise routine. You can do this within each exercise session such as by doing half of your cardio on the treadmill and the other half on the exercise bike or you can do it based on the day or the week. Research the different exercise options.
