Hair Removal Techniques
(489 Words)
Many women face unwanted hair on their face, an embarrassing proposition for any person, no matter how old. As a woman ages and bears children, this often becomes more commonplace. Fortunately, there are numerous ways that a woman might remove hair. These range in cost, permanence, pain and ease. Women can also combine strategies. A woman should consider the different options to find out what is best for her.
Plucking
Many women use tweezers to pluck unwanted hairs from their faces. This method has both advantages and disadvantages. One good thing is that it can be easily done at home with a simple pair of tweezers. It is very inexpensive and can be done with the same tweezers again and again. Another advantage is that because the hair is pulled out by the root, the results can last for days and even weeks or a month or more. Another advantage is that it is easy to target the particular hairs. This makes it very good for sculpting eyebrows. One problem is that only one or a couple of hairs can be removed at one time. This makes it very good if one has just a few hairs that she wants to remove but will make it a less than ideal method if a lot of hairs need to be removed. Also, it can be extremely painful. It can take a lot of time since you have to do the hairs individually or in small groups. It can also leave irritation. It is easy to do, and most women can learn. They do not need to go to a salon.
Waxing
With waxing, honey, a sugar solution or similar formula is applied to a woman’s face. In traditional waxing, a muslin or cotton strip is then pressed over the area and the strip is then ripped away, hopefully taking the hairs with it. You can also get stripless formulas. It can be very painful, but is done quickly and can get most of the hairs at once. You can go to a salon to get it done, and there are numerous home kits that you can also purchase. Some formulas can be difficult to do and can irritate the skin.
Shaving
Some women simply shave off unwanted hairs. It does not hurt, but can irritate the skin. The results tend to only last a few days but it is quick and easy to do. It is inexpensive.
Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal only tends to work on darker hairs. Often it must be done again and again, and it can be expensive.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis can provide permanent hair elimination. It is a slow and painful process, but can be very effective. It can also be expensive. Most like a professional to do it.
There are many different methods of hair removal. Consider all of your options when choosing the one that will get rid of your unwanted facial hairs.
