Why its Important to say Things that Matter when a Loved one is seriously Ill

It is very important to say things that matter when a loved one is seriously ill. You will realize benefits both for yourself and your loved one by verbalizing what truly needs to be said.
When you are seriously ill your attitude can make a big difference in your recovery. When you have a positive attitude and are surrounded by positive, loving people, then you will have a better chance of fighting off the illness than if the opposite were true. Of course, some times the path is set, but if there is still a chance, you want the person to be as optimistic as possible. When you say things that matter to the person such as how much you love them then they may be more likely to get this drive to get better. You can say things that will get them thinking positively.
In some cases, you know that they will not emerge from the illness. In this situation, it is even more important to say things that matter. They may really want to hear these things. If you have never expressed how you truly felt, then this is your chance. They may be too ill to try to solicit these things from you, so it will be up to you to verbalize them.
There may be important things that you need to get out yourself. It may be uncomfortable talking about these things, but you may want to force yourself to do so.
Sometimes there are misconceptions that occur between loved ones. This may be your only chance to get these cleared up. Of course you do not want to bring negativity to the person’s life right now.
You also want to be sure to say things that matter for your future. Years may pass, and if you did not say the things that needed to be said then you may always regret it. You may want to go back to say these things but of course you will not be able to. When you make sure that you say all of the things that matter during the time, then you can live in peace, knowing that they truly knew and understood whatever it was that you had to say.
For the benefit of you and your loved one, you want to say all of the things that matter when they are seriously ill. It may be difficult, but it is the right thing to do.
