You want your child’s adorable little baby clothes to remain in tip top condition. There are different washing tips that can help you realize this goal.
Read the labels of the baby clothing
Just like with any other item you want to read the labels of the baby clothing. Just because something looks like it should be washed a certain way doesn’t mean that it should be. You want to know the recommended guidelines for the product.
Treat stains right away
A lot of baby clothing gets stained. Babies spit up, have diaper accidents and spill food that just loves to stain like carrots. The quicker you can wash these items the better. You might want to get some stain sticks to see if that can help you with the stains.
Remember that the dryer can shrink some clothing
Babies are in baby clothing for a very short amount of time. For the most part it is a matter of months before they are bursting out of that once loose outfit. If you put it in the dryer then that could be what makes it get too small. Some people hang dry all of their baby clothing, but you do not have to take this measure if you do not want to because it can take a lot of time that you probably don’t have with a little baby. Remember that if you dry the larger clothing it may fit sooner too. Decide which outfits you want to last the longest and how much time you want to spend in hanging them.
Remember that some babies are sensitive to some detergents
Some detergents can be irritating to some people. Some parents like to use one that is specifically “free and clear.”
Fabric softener can affect flame resistance
A lot of sleepwear for babies is made to be flame resistant. Fabric softeners can affect this, so be aware of that when washing those clothing.
Take steps not to lose items
There are many teeny tiny baby outfits. You may have an outfit that comes with a shirt, pants, jacket, two booties and a hat. You can take steps to keep all of these together such as by putting them in a delicates’ washing bag in the machine.
You want your baby clothing to come through the wash safe and sound and hopefully clean. You might want to put things away as soon as possible so that all of the tiny little pieces stay together.
