When Easter comes, you may want to make your classroom look festive for this spring holiday. There are many directions that you can go with the decorations for this holiday. Consider the following ideas.
Giant eggs
Of course many kids are very familiar with Easter eggs. You can use these all over your classroom as decorations. You can buy some that are small to put everywhere. You can even later incorporate this into an Easter egg hunt. They also sell larger eggs that you can use as decorations. You can even make your own with fabric and stuffing.
Easter signs
You might want to wish your students a happy Easter, and you can do exactly that with some signs. You can print out some banners on the computer. They can simply say “Happy Easter” or they can be something fun such as “Have a Hopping Fun Easter!” You can also print out signs on paper from your computer with different poems and quotes about the holiday.
Bunny dolls
Of course, many children associate Easter with bunnies. You can find all of the bunny dolls you can and place them all around the classroom. During the time of year they sell bunny dolls that specifically have an Easter theme. For instance, they may be holding an egg. You can also decorate with pictures of bunnies, either fictional depictions or actual photographs. You can also put up books about Easter.
Involve the students
You can have the students help you make your Easter decorations. For instance, they can draw pictures of bunnies to post up all over the class. If they are too young, you can print out coloring pages of bunnies and just have them color them. You can also get plastic eggs and have the children paint them however they would like. Make sure to get paint that will go well on plastic and not just rub right off. Of course they have many kits to dye eggs. You want to make sure to take all safety precautions with this.
A classroom decorated for Easter can be a lot of fun for the students. You will find a lot of items already premade at sources such as Oriental Trading Company. They also sell decorations at places that have a seasonal Easter selection such as Target and many other local stores. The above ideas may help get you started on your classroom decorations.
