How a new Relationship can Make you Gain Weight
Some people find that a new relationship can actually promote weight gain. This is probably not something that you want, thus it is important to be aware of the factors at play so that you can control them. Consider the following issues that may have culpability.
You are not as worried about keeping yourself trim
You may be gaining weight simply because you are not working as hard to keep it down in the hopes of attracting someone. For many people their weight loss goals are tied in to the fact that they want to look good to attract members of the opposite sex. If they are actively looking for someone then they might be doing everything that they can to keep in good shape such as exercising a lot and watching everything that they eat. If you have started dating someone already then you will not be thinking about getting a new guy or girl. When people are going out trying to get someone they may constantly have events they are going to like single’s events or bars or new dates. They might always try to look good for that next exciting event where someone could be “the one.” If they do not have these events, then they might let themselves have that extra potato chip. They might not be worried about exercising every day.
They might go out to eat more
Some people do not like going out by themselves. When they are not dating someone, then they might be more low key in their meals and eat at home. When you are dating someone, you might go out more to different restaurants. The food at a lot of restaurants is very unhealthy for you, the portions immense. Even meals that sound healthy are often unhealthy. For instance, at home if you want vegetables you might just open a can or heat some frozen ones in the microwave. At a restaurant they often add a significant amount of butter. If someone is going out to eat a lot now that they are dating, then they might gain weight.
They may be busier and have less time to exercise
A lot of people work and do not have a lot of spare time. They might have exercised before in their spare time. Perhaps now instead they are busy going out with their new beau and are not burning the calories that they were.
There are many reasons why a new relationship can cause you to gain weight. Try different strategies to combat the above factors if you want to stay in shape.
