There are many different styles, and there is no right or wrong. It is all up to you and what you have dreamed of for your special day. The following are some popular styles of wedding gowns.
The “Princess” look
Many women dream of being a princess on their wedding day. They might then choose a ball gown style. This has a fitted bodice and a large skirt that comes out. You can get added crinolines to make the skirt very large. Within this silhouette there are many different dress designs. Some are rather simple, made of satin or tulle. Others are heavily embellished with items like beading and Swarovski crystals. Many have long trains that go out far behind them. This can make a woman feel like Cinderella on her special day.
A-line
An A-line style tends to have a fitted bodice and a skirt that gently goes out very gently. It is reminiscent of an “a” shape, thus its name. This can be very flattering on a lot of body shapes that the ball gown look overwhelms on. A lot of women like this as a compromise between a huge gown and a sheath dress.
Sheath
Some women want something simple. A sheath gown can be sleek, sexy, elegant and simple. Some are just pure silk while others are embellished.
Mermaid
A lot of women like the mermaid look. It is a dress that is fitted throughout the bodice and further down but comes out at the bottom. It can be very sexy but luxurious at the same time.
Necklines
There are many different styles of necklines that a bride might choose to wear. One very popular one is a strapless look. A lot of women find this to be both sexy and beautiful and you will find it on wedding gowns of all different types. You will also find some with spaghetti straps. These thin straps might be barely noticeable but a lot of women like that their dress is being help up and might not need to be as tight as a strapless. Off-the-shoulder straps are also very pretty and flattering on a lot of women. A halter and princess neckline are also very attractive.
You will have many different styles from which to choose on your wedding day. Even if you have an idea of what you want, you might want to try on the different styles.
