When you go to the party store, you may find beautiful decorations that are not so great for your pocketbook. They may cost three, four, five dollars or more per item, and it can add up if you want to decorate the entire house. Consider the following ideas for decorating inexpensively.
Streamers
Streamers are a great way to get a lot for your money. You can buy these from an inexpensive place. When you take them and drape them across the room, they look very substantial.
Choose inexpensive places like the Dollar store
Even party stores that call themselves discount often aren’t. There is, however, a place that is a great deal on party decorations and that is a dollar store such as the Dollar Tree. They sell many different decorations for only $1. You can get streamers there, cut-outs for the walls, tablecloths, centerpieces and more for a third of the price that you would pay at many party stores. They also sell nice Mylar helium balloons. One way to make the room look very fancy without spending a lot is to get some of these balloons to decorate.
Print out pictures from the Internet
You can make your own decorations for the party by printing out your own. There are many inexpensive software programs that let you make signs and banners. You can find a lot of images and clip art on the Internet that might go along with your party and look great.
Make your own decorations
With some poster board and paints, you might be able to make some great decorations. For instance, if you are throwing a princess birthday party, then you can draw princesses on the poster boards. You might also be able to make collages with pictures from magazines.
Look for items on sale and clearance
There are many party supplies that go on sale and clearance, and you might be able to save a lot. For instance, Party City has big clearance events. You can also look online at a source such as Oriental Trading Company for their sales as well.
You do not need to spend a lot of money to decorate for a children’s birthday party, especially if you are creative. When you are done with the party, you should also save the items that you may be able to use again. You may be able to save even more by reusing them.
