Diy Frugal Party Ideas for Kids

A lot of people cannot afford to spend a lot of money for their kids’ birthday parties. That doesn’t mean that you cannot give them a great celebration however. The following are some do-it-yourself (DIY) frugal party ideas for kids.
Set up a scavenger hunt for the children
A lot of kids love a scavenger hunt. You can create this yourself and it doesn’t have to cost anything. You simply need to set up different clues for the kids. You can have it at your house. For instance, you can write that the first clue in the base of the bird’s home (i.e. by the tree). You can send them all over the house and backyard, and see who can finish first.
Make a murder mystery party
A fun party can be where you have the children have to solve some sort of mystery. It can be a murder mystery or something more benign such as a missing piece of jewelry. You can have different actors (i.e. your friends and family you have recruited) play out scenes from the mystery. You can then have a small and inexpensive prize for everyone.
Craft party
A lot of kids love to do crafts. You can get a book on inexpensive crafts. Many of these can be made with recycled objects like shoeboxes and paper towel rolls. You can also let them paint or do other art projects.
Make a backyard carnival
You can turn your backyard into a carnival. You can have the kids play a ring toss game for instance. If it is a warmer month, then you can set up some sprinklers and let them have water balloon fights.
Bunco party
This dice game can be addicting. Just like you might have played it years ago, it can be fun for kids.
Make a dance and game party
You can buy different CDs that have kids dance music. You can also do fun games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Musical Chairs, Red Light, Green Light, Duck Duck Goose, the Hokey Pokey and more.
When you are giving out prizes and favors for your party, you can look to the dollar store or the dollar section of Target. Also stores like Target will often put things on clearance, so you can stock up then if you have an upcoming party. You can also save money on the food by making your own food. Instead of buying pizza, have the children make themselves little pita pizzas. You just need to get pitas, pizza sauce, and shredded cheese and then put them in the oven. It can be a fun craft and save you money. Try these and the above ideas to save money on your child’s party.
