(412 Words)
It certainly takes no effort to find a scam job online, but what about finding a legitimate one? There are some out there, but they are often difficult to find. Consider the following secrets to finding a legitimate job online.
Get a recommendation from someone you (really) know
If you know someone in real life who has been making money from a legitimate job online, then this can be the best way to find such a job. You will have someone that you know and trust who is telling you about their experience. They can show you that they have earned money. Of course, there are instances where a job appears legitimate and you earn a little money only to have it turn around, but usually you know pretty quickly when something is a scam because you usually do not make anything right away. The longer they have been doing it for, the better chance it is legitimate. You can ask around to everyone you know to see if anyone knows of any opportunities. Also, someone who e-mails you and says they have a great opportunity is NOT the same as knowing someone. Even if they say that they from a legitimate institution, it doesn’t mean that they really are.
Look around the Internet and weed out places that have warning signs
You can do a search of the Internet. There are different websites, which discuss Internet jobs and people will write about their experiences. Remember that some of these can be staged so try to find multiple places where people rate something positively. Look for opportunities that seem reasonable. If someone offers a six figure salary for an hour a day of work with no experience, then it is probably not legitimate. You should be providing legitimate work for the person for a realistic compensation. For instance, the payment on Helium seems reasonable compared to what you are giving. Someone who offers $1000 for an article that you write does not seem to make sense. Especially be wary of anyone that asks you to give money or any personal information, especially your bank or credit card information. You can also often find information about specific scams on the Internet at places like www.snopes.com.
Finding a legitimate job online is a little like finding a beautiful flower amongst a sea of weeds. Difficult, but it can be done. The above strategies may help you find the opportunity that you are looking for.
