There is far more to be addicted to than alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. Some people are addicted to ebay, and this can be a destructive habit indeed. You can end up spending quite a bit of money on things that you do not need on this expansive website. The following are some signs that your interest might have reached addiction level.
Ebay is the first thing you check in the morning and the last thing you check before you go to bed
Do you have to jump onto ebay before you have had your morning coffee? Is this what you check constantly? If you feel the need to look through it above everything else, then you might be addicted.
Do you feel pains if you cannot get on it?
If you are addicted, you might feel some psychological pain if you cannot be on it when you want. If you sleep late, for instance, and need to rush to work without checking it, will you be constantly thinking about it? If it takes up your thoughts more than other things like your kids, then you may be a little too into it.
How much time do you spend on it?
Some people literally are on ebay for hours a day. Think about how much time you spend on the website. Do you give up other things that you used to do such as talking to friends? Also, are you looking on it at times you shouldn’t such as while you are at work. Are you sitting at your child’s soccer game but instead of watching her play soccer you are on the Internet?
Do you get a constant stream of packages from ebay of things that you do not need?
Does your mailman know you as the brown box house because you get so many packages from ebay? If you are getting one thing after the next but you really don’t need them, then this might be a sign of a problem. Think about the items that you look at ebay. Do you just browse constantly through the categories looking for anything that interests you? Do you have it up on several Internet browsers so that you can watch different items at one time? Do you constantly hit refresh? Do you feel like you just need to win the auctions?
Ebay can be a very useful website from which to purchase, but for some it can get out of hand. If you feel that you have become addicted, you will want to take action by weaning yourself off of it or getting help. The above points may signal that you have a problem.
