Tips for Busy Moms going Back to School

It can be quite the challenge for a busy mom to go back to school. The following are tips for being both a great mom and a great student.
Try to find time to dedicate to each of your activities
It can be difficult to hop back and forth from being a mom to being a student, and that is what you are going to have to do. If possible, see if you can dedicate specific times to each of those. When you are working on one activity, try to give all of your focus to that. If you are worried about your school while you are taking care of your children, you may not be able to provide what they need. You will also get more stressed if you are always stressed about two things at once.
Be organized
Make yourself a schedule so that you know what you are doing when and you do not accidently overbook anything. A planner can be helpful to help you write down all of your assignments as well as children’s activities such as doctor appointments, sports games and so forth.
Do not procrastinate
You may remember procrastinating when you were in school before kids. It may be much harder to pull this off now that you are a mom. You need to be awake and alert to take care of your kids and you do not want to be on one hour of sleep because you had an all night study session for the test that you have known about two weeks. Try to keep up with things for both your children and your school.
Do not be afraid to ask for help
Being a mom is a full time job as is being a student. It is understandable if you need help. It is okay to hire a babysitter. You might want to hire someone to come in and clean your house once in a while. If someone offers help, then do not be too proud to take them up on it. Also, if you are having difficulties with your classes, then go to your teachers to ask for help from them.
Even with both school and mom time on your hands, you still might want to find a little time for yourself. If you are getting overwhelmed, then try to find a few minutes to just relax, meditate or get a massage. If you cannot take care of yourself then you will not be able to take care of all of your other obligations.
