How many children should you invite to your child’s birthday party? It is a question echoed by parents year after year. There is no one right or wrong answer in this. Each parent and each party will be different. The following are some tips for deciding how many children to invite to your child’s birthday party.
Consider your budget
All things being equal, extra children typically equate to extra cost. This can be substantial such as if you are contracting with a party vendor that has a sizeable per child charge or it can be minimal such as if you are having the party at your home and it will just mean an extra favor bag. Consider your budget, including all of the extras, and decide how many children you can invite without exceeding the number. Also consider that a certain number does not usually show up.
How many children does your child want to invite?
You will want to look at the amount of friends your child wants to invite. Perhaps he or she does not have a lot of friends and you can just let him or her invite however many he or she wants. If he or she has a lot, then you might have to cut him off.
Is there an amount that you feel obligated to amount?
Sometimes in a group setting, you will feel obligated to invite a certain amount. For instance, you may feel that you need to invite your entire mother’s group or his or her class in school.
Does the type of party necessitate a number?
Sometimes the type of party will spell out how many people can be there. For instance, let’s say you are having a beauty parlor party and the salon gives you a maximum of twelve. Obviously, you will need to make sure that you do not end up with more than that. Less frequently you may want at least a certain number, such as if you are playing a game that requires a certain amount of people.
Do you want a more intimate or busy setting?
A party with ten kids will have a far different feel than one with fifty. Think about the type of atmosphere you and your child want.
Choose carefully the number of people to invite to the party because it can help to dictate the party itself. The aforementioned tips can help you with this.
