One wonderful thing to do with children’s clothing that you no longer need is to donate it. There are many places that you can donate such items to. The following are some places that you might want to consider.
Organization that sends it to foreign countries in need
There are many organizations that collect clothes to be sent to those in need. They might be sent to foreign countries or may even stay here to be used domestically. This can be wonderful because your clothes will get a second life with some children who really need it. You can try to look up these organizations. One place that often organizes this is the different places of worship such as churches and temples. A lot of the children’s clothing would be far more than these children could otherwise afford, and it would be a wonderful thing for you to share it with them.
Shelters
A lot of times you can donate different children’s clothing to different shelters. They may use it for the families coming through these. You could also donate it to a place of refuge for abused women. You can call around to the different such organizations to find out if they have need of such items.
See if you know of a family in need
Sometimes we can donate to someone even closer to home. There are many people in need, even in our own communities. You could ask around to see if anyone knows someone that is in a bad financial situation and could use some donations of some clothes. They might very much appreciate the help, and it could be a very good thing that you do if you donate it to them.
Goodwill
Goodwill is a very popular place to donate children’s clothing. The money they earn can go a long way in helping the needy. You can feel good that your children’s clothing will get more use and that the poor and/or needy will benefit.
When your children outgrow their clothes, you will have many choices of what to do with them. Donating them is one of the nicest things to do and could really make a difference for someone that is not in a good situation.
