How to get your Pre Baby Body Back
Having a baby can be very rough on your body. For most mothers, their body does not simply bounce back. It takes hard work and effort. Take a slow, step-by-step approach.
Talk to your doctor
The first step is learning what you can do as far as physical activity. If you had a c-section, you cannot simply go back into a rough exercise routine. Talk to your doctor about when it is safe to start exercising and what types of exercises you should do.
You might be able to be creative to get back into your exercising routine. For instance, if you had a c-section you are not supposed to do exercises like jogging or aerobics for six weeks, however that does not mean that you cannot get in any cardio. You can buy a “bike for the arms.” This device has pedals that spin around, and instead of using your legs, you use your arms. This can help you get the cardio exercise with less chance of a hernia.
Walking
The first thing you almost always can and should do is walk. It is amazing how much walking can do to start getting your body back in shape. You should just be generally active. Take your baby out for walks in a stroller.
Get active as soon as you can
As soon as you can get back into an exercise routine you should. You should do at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise a day. Weight training can also be helpful. You can build up your muscles again. This can help you get more fit and lose those extra pounds you put on during the pregnancy.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding can also help new mothers get their shapes back. Besides the fact that it is incredibly healthy for the baby, it also burns a lot of calories and helps you shed that weight. It is best if you can breastfeed exclusively for six months and then continue until at least one or two years.
Eat healthy
Of course it is also important to eat healthy. Do not just go on a crash diet, especially if you are breastfeeding because this could affect your milk supply. You want to go on a healthy meal plan that involves a lot of fruits and vegetables. Try to avoid unhealthy foods such as cakes, ice cream and other sweets as well as fatty meats, fried food, sugary drinks and cheeses.
Do not expect your body just to snap right back. It took you nine months to put on the weight and it might take you some time to get it back. Use a combination of healthy eating and physical activity to get your pre-baby body back.
