You can have a lot of flexibility in your hours
As your own boss of a vending machine hours, you can pretty much make your own hours. You will decide when you want to go to visit the different vending machines to refill them or to purchase the products. Of course, you might have a few limitations if your vending machine is in a business and you will need to fill it during business hours, but you will have a lot of flexibility. In addition, if you want to take some time off or a vacation, you can decide for yourself if you are able to do this and not need to work around someone else’s schedule or desires.

Unless you become a big operation where you have enough people to get some sort of company insurance plan, you are probably going to be on your own with benefits. This might mean getting a personal health plan, which can be difficult to get and expensive. For some people, this might be what stops them from getting their own business.
Things can go wrong that are out of your control
Let’s say you have a great vending machine in a business. If the business closes then you will be out. There are things out of your control that will affect your business and you will just have to accept them.
