Make sure you are in a place where children and pets cannot get to your supplies, especially if you have tools that can be dangerous, such as sharp tools for cutting.
You need to have a large table or desk that will serve as your work space. You need a space large enough to hold an opened scrapbook as well as some extra room where you can work out the way you want to arrange the elements in the book. Make sure it is at a good height for you. You can buy a computer desk for this or an actual crafting desk from an arts and craft store. You can also save money and just buy an inexpensive folding table.
You need a comfortable chair or stool at which to sit. Even if you mostly stand while you put the book together, you may want to stand. Make sure that it is something comfortable that will support you.
You need to have an organizational system to hold all of your scrapbooking supplies. Most people who do scrapbooking will have lots of tiny embellishments such as tape, beads, crystals, pieces of paper and more. You will need tiny drawers, boxes or other containers in order to store these.
Make sure that it is easy to get to the different items you need. You can purchase a system that goes on the tabletop or one that goes on the floor. You can also store your supplies in little plastic bags, which you then put into larger containers.
