Cruising is a fun and unique vacation that many people enjoy, however it is not for everyone. There are many factors that can determine whether you will have the time of your life or wish you had stayed home. The following tips can help you decide whether cruising is for you.
First, you should think about whether you would enjoy the activities on a cruise. Many people like to spend a lot of time on the ship’s deck, relaxing by the pool or watching the waves of the sea. If you love buffets, then you will find plenty on many ships. If you like to gamble, this is another activity you will find plentiful on many ships. There are many other activities such as shows, dancing and more to entertain on a cruise. Obviously, a lot will depend on the ship as well.
In addition to what you can do on the ship, think about what you will do at the ports and excursions. Obviously, this will vary greatly depending on where you go (or if you go anywhere at all since you can take a cruise to nowhere). There are many places you can go as almost everywhere has a cruise to it. If you like excursions into foreign places, the fun physical activities such as scuba diving or just exploring different cultures then a cruise might be for you.
Once you know whether or not you would enjoy the amenities and good parts of cruises, you need to think about whether you would be okay with any parts that would be negative for you. For instance, some people experience seasickness but many people are able to control this through medicine or other methods. Obviously, if you cannot get over it no matter what you do then cruising is not for you. If you hate the idea of being stuck on a boat and not able to rush home or go where you want to go, then cruising might not be for you. If the idea of crowds bothers you, then at least most of the cruises might be out because a lot of different cruises are filled with people. Also if you hate being in the sun, you will find other things to do but you might have to miss out on a lot of the cruise and thus it might not be for you.
Of course, you will need to think about the money it costs to cruise. Even though it can be a relatively good deal since many cruises are almost all-inclusive, it still can add up. You will need to make sure that it is worth the money to go on a cruise.
To help yourself make this decision, you might want to make a pro/con list to see if the positives of cruising outweigh the negatives. If they do, consider a cruise on your next vacation.
