Your elementary school child might enjoy receiving little cards during the holidays. You can get ones that say I love you” or have other nice sentiments or you could make your own. This might be fun for them to receive and another place that you can reiterate your love.
Show him affection
It is important that you show your child how much you love him. If he needs a hug, then give him one. If he needs someone to hold him while he is sick, then provide that. If he needs a shoulder to cry on or just an ear to listen then give him those. And with all of these, make sure that you tell him. A lot of times your actions can convey a far stronger message than your words.
