(400 Words)
No matter what you are selling, there are different factors that can make a sales pitch successful. Try to incorporate these elements into your pitch.
The salesperson is confident
The salesperson should come across as confident that this product is wonderful and should be purchased. If the salesperson clearly does not believe in the product then the customers are likely to wonder why they should. The salesperson should act like he or she would purchase it in your shoes. They will often seem excited.
A sales pitch should also not be too overwhelming for the customer. Sometimes the salesperson tries too hard and the client realizes that everything is being said to get the sale. The salesperson wants to get the customers and clients to trust him or her. He wants to get them to think that he is their friend and is trying to help them by getting them to purchase the item. If they feel that way, then they may be more likely to buy.
The salesperson is knowledgeable
Oftentimes a sales pitch is successful because the salesperson comes across as knowledgeable. For instance, if you are purchasing a mattress and the salesman really seems to know what he is talking about then you might be much more likely to take his or her suggestions. If the salesperson does not seem to know about the product then you may not have faith that the product is good for you.
They can influence people to imagine themselves using the product.
A salesperson wants the customer to already think of their product as theirs. If you are looking at shoes for instance, then a salesperson might ask you about the clothing you will wear with them. Suddenly you are imagining them on your feet and thinking about how perfect they will look with your new dress.
They influence the person to act now
A good sales pitch can give a sense of urgency to the sale. They may talk about the possibility of the item not being there is the person waits. They can talk about a sale ending. However they do it, they can get the person to think that it is imperative not to wait.
Ultimately a winning sales pitch is one that influences the customer to buy. How you do it will depend on the product as well as the audience, but the above factors can contribute.
