(410 Words)
Your toddler is having a birthday party with lots of little friends. The food you serve may be different than the typical children’s birthday party because of the young age of the guests. Consider the following food items for your party.
Pizza
Even young toddlers eat pizza. This can be easy because it is inexpensive and you can get it delivered. You may want to stick mostly with plain cheese pizza because a lot of little kids do not like any special toppings. Get the pizza double-cut because kids may not eat that much.
Tiny sandwiches
Little finger sandwiches make great fare for a toddler’s birthday party. You can make sandwiches such as jelly, cheese and cream cheese. Cut each sandwich into four separate pieces and put them into a platter. You might want to divide them into separate plates since kids are picky and may only want one type.
Mini bagels
A lot of little kids who are picky eaters will eat mini bagels. You can serve it with cream cheese, butter, jelly or other toppings.
Fruit
Fruit is a wonderful, healthy food to serve at a toddler’s birthday party. Make sure that it is safe and do not serve grapes if the children are really young because those can be a choking hazard. Some favorite fruits of little ones include strawberries, bananas and melons. You can also put out dried fruits like raisins and craisins.
Dry cereal
Dry cereal is an excellent item to serve at a little toddler’s birthday parties. You can put bowls of popular cereals such as cheerios and Kix. Kids who are picky about other foods will often eat this.
Cheese and crackers
Cheese and crackers work very well at a toddler’s birthday party. You can get an assortment of crackers or get plain ones. Add different types of cheese that kids love such as slices of cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Drinks
It is important to consider the drinks you get for a toddler’s birthday party. You may want to forgo the soda because a lot of parents do not like their kids to have soft drinks. Instead, you can serve healthier drinks like apple juice or grape juice. Make sure you have water. If you want something sweeter, try lemonade or fruit punch instead.
