How to Choose Shoes for your Wedding Reception
(453 Words)
When you look for the shoes for your wedding ceremony and pictures, you might not be looking at comfort. You might instead be looking for a gorgeous shoe that provides a high heel, a lot of sparkle and that wow factor. That shoe might look great in all of the pictures, but it might not work as well when you want to dance the night away at your wedding reception. There are many choices of shoes that will still look great but be perfect for your wedding reception.
Ballet flats
Many women choose to wear ballet flats for their wedding receptions. These shoes are very sweet and feminine and resemble children’s ballet shoes. They look like a small slipper and do not have any heel on them. They are typically very soft and flexible. They are perfect for a bride who just wants to have a good time and dance at her wedding reception.
If you do get shoes that are flats or have a much smaller heel than the shoes you wore for your wedding ceremony then you want to make sure that your dress can transform accordingly. You do not want your dress to suddenly be three inches too long and drag on the floor or even trip you. Many dresses bustle up but they still might be too long in the front if you suddenly lose a lot of inches.
Loafers
There are many loafers that are very comfortable, but may work fine for the reception after the wedding. Obviously you want to look around to find one that looks fancy enough and will go with your wedding look. You can even embellish it yourself by gluing on tiny crystals or pearls.
Sneakers
It may seem silly to wear sneakers to your wedding but many women buy fancy sneakers exactly for this purpose. They can be a lot of fun. They make sneakers that have all of the same embellishments that you see on wedding dresses and fancy shoes. These may include ribbons, crystals and embroidery. Some of them might even have a funny saying such as “I do.” You can find these and other comfortable shoes for after your wedding at bridal stores.
Miscellaneous
There are many different miscellaneous shoes you can change into for your wedding reception. You might choose a fancy sandal, for instance. Some women who consider themselves cowgirls will even wear boots. Others will wear shoes that are fancy but just have a smaller heel.
You do not want to be sitting down during your reception when you should be dancing because your feet hurt. Look at bridal stores, online and in general shoe stores for options on what to wear during your wedding reception.
