How to Decide when to Wear Flip Flops

The appropriate places to wear flip flops will be dependent on where you live as well as the weather outside. You should look to see what others in your area are wearing in order to help you make this decision.
Obviously the classic place to wear flip flops is the beach. This is the standard shoe. You can also wear it in other places where you will be swimming such as the pool. It is not too fancy for a park, but you might want something that protects your foot more.
You are likely to wear flip flops while you are on vacation. If you are at a comfortable resort, then you should be able to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
You will be more likely to wear flip flops on a regular basis in areas that are casual and warm. There are many places where the weather is warm most of the year and the atmosphere is casual. For instance, if you live in South Florida, you will find that many people wear flip flops during the entire year. They will wear them to the malls and many other public places. That being said, it does not mean that you can wear them everywhere you go. You can wear it to a casual fast food restaurant, but you should not wear it to a nice sit down dinner.
You also need to consider the time of year. For instance, some say not to wear flips flops between October and March. In most areas it would be too cold to do so anyways.
Another consideration is the type of flip flops you are wearing. Flip flops come in many different styles, and some are a lot fancier than others and will be acceptable in more places. For instance, plain rubber hot pink flip flops may be best for the beach but if you have flip flops with crystals and embellishments and a thicker band, you might be able to pass them off as a fancier shoe.
You should also consider how well the flip flop will perform. Do not wear it to a crowded concert where someone might step on your foot. You probably wouldn’t want to wear it to a theme park if you will be walking all day.
There are a number of considerations that will help you decide where it is appropriate to wear flip flops. Sometimes it is a matter of deciding where they are inappropriate such as work, school and a fancy restaurant. Do not wear it if you are going to a special event. It never hurts to wear a fancier shoe.
