Walt Disney World can be hectic on the most perfect day – add in a little rain and it can be quite the challenge. Especially during the Florida summers it rains quite often in the afternoons, thus you may have a decent chance of encountering such a complication. Even when Mother Nature is not on your side, you can still enjoy the theme parks. The following are tips on how to enjoy Walt Disney World on a rainy day.
Bring umbrellas
You will want to think ahead and bring umbrellas into the parks. They now sell many that are so small that they can literally fit into your pocket or a purse. They then open up to be regular-sized umbrellas. Obviously, you can buy a much bigger one as well. Umbrellas can help keep you dry, and if it is not raining too hard, they can let you continue like normal through the park.
Bring a rain shield for your stroller
They sell many rain shields that are made for strollers. This will be good to protect your child from the rain. Be careful about just covering them up with something that does not allow for airflow.
Bring in ponchos
Ponchos can help keep you dry. Again, if it is not raining to hard, you may be able to continue through the park like normal with the rain ponchos. They sell them in the park if you do not have any.
Plan to do the inside activities when it is raining
Walt Disney World has many indoor activities, which can take a long time. You might want to plan to do those at the times that it is raining. If you know that it is going to rain on and off all day, then you might want to start on the outdoor activities if it is not raining yet. Also, make sure you consider which rides have lines that are inside or under cover and which ones have lines are that outside.
Wear appropriate shoes to protect your feet from the rain
It is going to be a lot less fun trudging through the rain if your feet are freezing because you are wearing flip-flops. You may want to wear sneakers so that your feet are protected if it starts to rain. Once your feet get wet, it can be difficult to get comfortable and you want to avoid that.
It can be a challenge to travel through Walt Disney World in the rain, but with effort it can be done. Following the above tips will help you enjoy Walt Disney World on a rainy day.
