(404 Words)
When you are a blogger, you may have some difficulty staying motivated. You will not have your boss hovering over you, yet it is important that you continue to perform at an acceptable level. The following are ideas for freelance bloggers to keep up the hard work.
Make a specific time each day to work
When working as a freelance blogger there is not usually a certain time that you have to work. That being said, you might find it easier to keep motivated if you make a specific time that you are going to blog. Sometimes people will keep putting off updating their blog. You may do so until it is late and then you have to rush through it or not do as well as you would have. It just be a “chip on your shoulder” all day. If instead you make a specific time, you might just automatically be motivated to do it during that time. You can pick a time that you are the most productive and efficient so hopefully it won’t take as long.
Be creative in your blog
Do not just write the same thing in a different way day after day. Try to be inventive in your blog. If you are writing a blog about cooking, then try some recipes you never would have tried before like some ethnic foods. Learn new vocabulary. Really try to write well so that when you read it you feel proud.
Read positive reviews
If you are good and fortunate enough to get positive reviews about your blog then you can read those to help you stay motivated. A lot of people follow blogs religiously. They may expect to see an updated blog and be disappointed when it is not up in a timely fashion. Reading your comments, even if you have already done so, may help to motivate you.
Give yourself a reward every time you finish
Positive reinforcement is very powerful and can be a useful strategy for a freelance blogger. Let yourself do something fun every time you finish. For instance, if you are reading a great book, then you can make that time after you do your blog. You can let yourself have a little treat after.
As a freelance blogger it is important to keep yourself motivated, even when you do not feel like writing. Consider the above tips to help you keep at your craft.
