How to Organize Makeup
You may have a great deal of makeup, and you want to easily find your makeup when you need it. There are many ways to organize your makeup that will help you keep track of it.
Makeup box
You will find makeup organizers of all different shapes, sizes, colors, styles and designs. You can search at beauty supply stores like Sally Beauty Supply to see what is available or look online. You can place all of the makeup items of similar types together. For instance, all of the lipsticks can go in one area, the eye shadows in another and so on.
Hanging organizer
Many manufacturers such as Vera Bradley make hanging makeup organizers. These may fold up into a bag that can be great to bring with you on a trip. They will then fold out to form a hanging organizer that you can simply place in your closet next to your clothes. These often have a multitude of pockets, which are sometimes covered with a translucent plastic so that you can see all of the different items that you have. They will sometimes each individually close to keep everything nice and clean. You can put your brushes and makeup application items in another pocket.
Plastic bags and a box
Another easy and inexpensive way to store makeup is to use plastic Ziploc bags. The bags are advantageous in that they do not take up any more room than the makeup itself however they protect the makeup from spilling. Also, you can write the exact type of makeup and expiration date on the cover of the bag so it will be obvious when it needs to be thrown out. You can put each individual makeup item in a bag or put the similar types in larger bags. You can then store all of them in a nice sturdy where they will be protected. For instance, you can get a hat box and place all of the makeup there.
Plastic organizer drawer set
Look at Target or an organizer store for a set of plastic drawers. These come in all different sizes. They may go on a table or on the floor depending on the size. The size of the drawers also vary. Take a picture of the makeup and put it on the front of the drawers or label the drawers so that you know what is in there.
No matter how you organize your makeup, make sure you keep track of expiration dates and clean out as needed. Experiment with different organizational solutions to see what meets your needs.
