How to Save Money on Back to School Clothing

You may spend a lot of money on back to school clothing. A lot of people are on a budget this year, however, and do not have a lot of money to spend. Consider the following money-saving strategies.
Save on uniforms
Even if your student is in a uniform you may still be able to save. You can look around to see if they have better deals at different stores. Other parents at the school may know the best options. In addition, you may want to consider buying the clothes used. If the style required hasn’t changed and you know someone whose child has outgrown the clothes or they have graduated to another school, then they may sell you the clothes for significantly cheaper than you would have paid for if bought at retail.
Buy during sales
There are many back to schools sales on clothing. You will find these at many different stores and sometimes the sales can be significant. You may see 40% or 50% off at a lot of department stores like Sears.
Use coupons
A lot of stores put out coupons. You may find these at department stores like Macys and J.C. Penney. These may be significant.
Look for clearance items
When you find something on clearance you may only pay a fraction of the price. For instance, Target starts most clearance items at 15% or 30% off but then it progresses and can get as much as 90% off! They have racks that specifically show the clearance items.
Look on the Internet
The Internet has a lot of deals on back to school clothing. Many of the stores that kids would normally shop at have websites as well. You can also look on www.ebay.com where a lot of people sell gently pre-owned clothing as well as big lots of clothing. You may be able to use coupon codes at these websites.
Look at cheaper stores
There are many inexpensive stores where you can find clothing that is good for school. Costco has great deals on kids’ school clothing for instance. Target is another great source. You will also find a lot at a store like Ross. You can also consider going to an outlet mall to shop such as the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Florida. There are many outlets around the country in New Jersey, Gettysburg and other places. There are also consignment shops with high quality inexpensive clothing.
There are many ways to save on back to school clothing for your kids. Consider the above methods.
