Buy per piece instead of a big crib bedding set
Oftentimes you will pay a great deal of money to buy a crib bedding set. These sets come with items such as a crib sheet, a crib bed skirt, a blanket, a bumper, a valence, etc. You should consider whether you need to buy a set or can instead just buy sheets, which are much less money. First of all, there is a good chance that you will not use everything in a crib bedding set. You are not supposed to use bumpers because they are a safety hazard, according to the American Association of Pediatrics. You are also not supposed to have a blanket in a newborn’s crib. Thus you will only use half of the set from the get go. Also, there is a good chance that you will get blankets to use as decorative items. Instead buy a bunch of sheets, because you will need extras of these anyways.
Price around at different stores
Some baby stores charge much more than others. New parents are often eager to get the best and will pay more than the items are actually worth. You might even find the exact same set for less if you look around. For instance, Target has a lot of crib sheets that are very nice. You can also look on the Internet at many different sources, but do remember to consider any shipping costs.
Look for sales, specials, coupons and clearance
There are many sales at stores that sell bedding for cribs, and these can often be substantial. Store like Babies R Us also come out with coupons. Sometimes they are mailed to you, other times you can get them in the store and sometimes you can even print them out from the Internet. Also, like many other items, crib bedding goes on clearance, and you may pay a fraction of the price for a set because of it.
You can have adorable bedding for your baby for the fraction of the cost if you know the right money-saving strategies. Remember that this is an item that will not be used for long thus it is not always necessary to have the most expensive and extravagant designs.
