: Is Amazon Prime Good value for Money

Amazon Prime is a special membership offered by Amazon.com. For $79 a year, you can receive the following privileges:
-free two-day shipping on eligible items
-Share with up to four people in the household
-no minimum purchase for free shipping on eligible items
-1-click ordering
-Reasonable prices for expedited shipping
Are these benefits worth the cost of membership? Is it a good value? It depends on what you buy on Amazon, how much you usually spend and how quickly you want it to get to you, among other factors.
If you do not have Prime, you will pay shipping when you spend less than $25 on your combined Amazon purchase. If you buy a lot of eligible items that are inexpensive and would normally pay for shipping, then that can accumulate to more than $79 very quickly. In that case it would be worth it for you to spend the money for Prime. Remember, that Prime only counts for eligible items. Marketplace items and things like magazine subscriptions are not eligible in any case. If you usually buy in amounts that are greater than $25 and you usually therefore get the free shipping anyways, then it might not be worth it.
Expedited shipping is another big feature of Amazon Prime. If you normally pay for quicker shipping, then those costs can add up very quickly and Prime might be worth it. Remember that two day shipping is not literally always two days since you have to take into account weekends and holidays. Also, you can upgrade to the one day for a very reasonable charge with Prime. Even if you would not normally upgrade to the two day shipping, it might be a nice perk for you to enjoy.
You will also need to look at how many people will be using Prime. Let’s say you worked it out and you would only save about $50 by using Prime, which would not make it worth the$79 membership fee on its own. However, let’s say that your sister could also use it and save $20, and your dad could save another $30. Suddenly the savings add up to $100 and then it is worth it.
Some people may also like the one-click ordering and assign value to that. Some people are eligible for free Prime memberships like students (for a limited time). You can also take a free trial to see if it is right for you.
