Pop up Toaster Features
Pop-up toasters are an extremely common household appliance used by many households around the country. Not all pop-up toasters are the same, as some have far more features than others. The ones that offer these extra features will usually cost more, so look at the features available to see whether it is worthwhile to spend the extra money. Consider the following toaster features:
Some toasters are bagel toasters or wide slot toasters, according to Overstock. These toasters have wider slots and will accommodate larger pieces of bread such as English muffins, muffins that are sliced, bagels or other breads that are thick. They will also often allow you to toast only one side of the bread, which is preferable for some people who eat bagels.
Some toasters have crumb trays that come out. This makes it a lot easier to clean them. You can simply remove it and throw away the crumbs.
Many toasters offer browning control. This lets you select how much you want the bread to be toasted. Toasters range in how much of a selection they offer in browning as well as how you select it.
Some toasters offer a digital display. You may find it easier to select exactly what you want with this rather than a knob.
A bread lift is another convenient feature. You can place this up and the toast will move up more than how high it goes when it just pops up. Many people find it much easier to take the toast out without burning their hands. This also works well if you are toasting a smaller piece of bread, such as an English muffin.
Some toasters have a reheat function. This is specifically made to reheat bread and make some crispy instead of soggy like the microwave would do.
Some toasters have an automatic shut off button. If you are happy with the piece of toast or if you just want to shut it off, then you can just push the button and everything is canceled. The toast will pop up.
Pop-up toasters also range in the amount of slices that they can do at a time. Most pop-up toasters will toast two to four slices of bread at a time. Obviously, the ones that do four are larger. Think about how many pieces you need at a time and the space you have on your counter.
Some much more expensive toasters have other features. Look at all the pop-up toasters available to decide which one is the best for you and your family.
