: Pros and Cons of a Fall Wedding

The fall can be a wonderful time for a wedding. There are reasons both for and against planning a wedding during this season, and you should consider all of these when making your decision.
Pros
The weather may very comfortable
Many people like the weather that the fall provides. The summer in a lot of places is very hot, and especially if you want an outdoor wedding, this might not be suitable. The winter can be very cold, and of course many would have to deal with the issue of snow and the possibility of a snowstorm grounding some guests or even causing you to postpone the wedding altogether! During the fall many areas are nice and cool, but not too hot. You are unlikely to get snowed in.
You want a wedding with a fall theme
A lot of people would love to have some sort of autumn theme for their wedding, and obviously what better time to have such a theme but the fall? They may like the warm feelings that surround Thanksgiving and have it near that very special holiday. Of course there are some that want an alternatively themed wedding such as a gothic wedding, and they might want to plan it for a time that is near Halloween. They may love the fiery colors of the trees during the fall and want to have such colors in their wedding. They may want to get married outside, amongst the beautiful backdrop of these trees.
Cons
School is in
With the exception of a few days here and there such as for the Thanksgiving Day holiday (when most people will be busy anyways) there are usually not breaks from school during the fall. A lot of people might be coming in from out of town for your wedding. They might not be able to attend if the wedding is during the fall because they might not want to take their children out of school. Of course they can travel for just a weekend, but this can be very difficult, and some might just not think it is worth the money and difficulty for such a small trip. If you planned it for a season such as the summer you won’t run into this problem.
Many people choose to get married during the autumn months. To know whether it is right for you, consider the above pros and cons.
