Many women have always dreamed of being a June bride. A summer wedding can be absolutely beautiful, and there are both advantages and disadvantages to such a wedding.
Advantages
School is out
A lot of people choose to make a summer wedding because some people find it easier to travel. Many people invite those with children to their wedding. If someone has children but lives far away then it can be difficult for them to take the children out of school to travel. Many kids have very full schedules during the school year. A lot of families make it a point only to travel during the summer months.
A lot of people are also teachers. If you have some of these on your invite list, then they may also be more likely to make it during this time of year.
The weather
A lot of people like a summer wedding because the weather is so beautiful in many places. You will usually not have to worry about getting snowed in. Also, if you want to have an outdoor wedding, then this can be a very nice time to do it. The sun is shining brightly.
It may be more conducive to your honeymoon
Depending on where you want to go, the summer might be ideal for your honeymoon. For instance, if you want to do an outdoor activity where it is too cold anytime but the summer, then such a seasonal wedding makes sense.
Disadvantages
The weather
Just as the weather is an advantage in some respects it can be a disadvantage as well. Some people find it very hot during the summer. If you want an outdoor wedding then it might be too hot for you or your guests. Also some areas of the country such as South Florida are very rainy in the summer. This can make it difficult if you are doing part of your wedding outside. Even if it is not outdoors, it can be difficult to get in and out of the car in your wedding attire if it is pouring outside.
Certain places might be more crowded or expensive
A lot of people travel during the summer. You may find that some places where you want your wedding might be busier or cost more. For instance, if you are planning on doing a destination wedding in Orlando, Florida, by the Walt Disney World Resort then you might find that the hotels are more expensive.
