Storing Blocks

(431 Words)
Many kids have a large collection of building blocks. These small pieces can get everywhere and become tripping hazards if they are not properly stored. There are many different ways you can store building blocks. You should try to find a way that allows your child to clean up the building blocks on his own or her own.
You can get a plastic bin to store the building blocks. This is convenient because you can buy a bin in one of many different sizes and shapes, so you can tailor it for his or her collection. You can also get bins that stack on top of each other for the various toys your child has.
You can buy a storage unit that allows you to put bins in or out without disturbing the others. If your child has room under his or her bed then you can purchase a bin that is specifically made to go under it. These can slide in and out or you can get a version that has a door.
If there is not a lot of room in the bin or he has a lot of blocks then you can teach him or her to spread them out in the bins so that they will all fit instead of just dumping them.
You can also get drawers to store blocks in. If you have extra room in your child’s dresser, for instance, then you can use a drawer to store the blocks. This can be convenient because it can hide the blocks and still provide an attractive space.
You can look for hidden storage areas to store the blocks. For instance, you can buy ottomans or benches that have a storage area underneath them. This can be a good place to put the blocks. They also make children’s tables that have storage areas under them.
Your child can store the blocks in his or her closet. They make many hanging storage solutions, which can be great if you do not have a lot of floor space but you do have extra room in the closet.
Wicker baskets provide another attractive place to store box. You can get baskets in different sizes and colors to store the toys and then put a pretty cloth on top of them so that the toys are hidden.
It is important to keep blocks off of the floor so that nobody accidentally hurts themselves and things stay nice. Make sure that there is a space that can accommodate all of them and teach your child to put all of them away.
