There are many great art projects for November. These can help celebrate the fall season, the holidays or other aspects of this beautiful month. Consider the following ideas.
Art project with the beautiful leaves
In many places, the leaves are turning colors in the month of November. You can use these in an art project. The students can get the different leaves and paste them on to construction paper for a beautiful collage. They can colors, or paint on top of the leaves. They can also draw or paint pictures of the fiery trees.
Thanksgiving art project
Of course, one of the more significant happenings during November is the Thanksgiving Day holiday. You can use this as the inspiration for the students’ art project. They can draw or paint a picture of pilgrims. They can also use construction paper to make a colorful turkey art project, using different colored pieces of paper glued together for the tail. They can make themselves a pilgrim mask. They can take a wicker cone to make a cornucopia with paper flowers that they make and decorate. They can also draw pictures of Thanksgiving Day traditions that their family has. Also, a lot of Thanksgiving is about eating a great meal. The children can paint a clay object that is a bowl, plate or mug. These can then be fired and give a lasting keepsake to the children.
Veteran’s Day project
The children might want to make an art project with an American theme for Veteran’s Day. For instance, they can use fabric paints and markers to decorate a patriotic hat or shirt. They can draw items like flags and red, white and blue stars. They can also decorate other items with an American theme such as picture frames and wooden boxes.
Fall art project
There are many other projects having to do with the season of fall. You can have the children decorate a shirt with the fall colors. They can also explore some of the things that you do during the fall such as play in leaves by drawing pictures of different scenes from this time.
There are many great art projects that children can do in the month of November. Consider the above ideas when planning the projects for your students to work on. Make sure that they are age appropriate or adapt them to the skills of the children.
