Styles that are Good for Adults with Long Hair
With long hair, you can create many beautiful styles, even as an adult. Try different hairstyles to give yourself many different looks.
Braids
Because your hair is long, you can put it in braids. This can be a beautiful way to keep it secured and out of your face. You can do something simple, such as a three-strand braid starting from the nape of the neck. For something very beautiful, do a French braid. With this type of braid, you start at the very top of your head with a little bit of hair. You then take small sections of hair from either side to add to the strands of the braid until you have all the hair.
There are many other unusual types of braids. For instance, you could do a rope braid or a fish tail. You can do a braid that goes over one shoulder.
Hair barrettes
You can use hair barrettes in your hair in many different ways. First, you can get a small one and use it to hold up a small section of your hair on the side. This can provide a sultry look that is perfect for an evening. You can also use a barrette to secure a small section in the back middle of your hair. This can keep your hair out of your face but still provide a very professional and neat look if you use a barrette that is not childish. You can get barrettes that are made with shells or in silver or gold tone.
Ponytail
Just because you are an adult does not mean you have to give up ponytails. There are many instances when this can be fine for an adult. First, when you are out at a casual outing or exercising, then you can make a simple ponytail. You can make it up high or at the nape of the neck.
If you do it right, you can also wear a simple ponytail to work or even to a nice function. First, make sure to pull it very tightly, as you do not want lumps if you are at work. One way to make it fancier is to wrap the hair around the scrunchie so that you cannot see it. After you have secured the ponytail, simply take a section of hair, wrap it around and use bobby pins to secure it. They also make hair scrunchies that are much more formal, which can look nice in a ponytail.
