Tips for getting a Clean Playroom

(423 Words)
It is very important to keep your playroom organized. You want the children to be able to find their toys and develop good cleaning habits from a young age. If they learn to keep their playroom organized now, they will be more likely to continue good cleaning habits in the future. There are a number of strategies that will help you accomplish this.
First, it is very important to have a space for everything. You cannot ask your children to put away their toys if there is no place to put them. There are many organizational solutions that can help you with toys, some of which are specifically made for certain toys. For instance, you can buy a Barbie doll holder that will hold all of your child’s Barbie dolls or you can buy a bin specifically made to hold individual race cars.
They sell colorful sets of bins that make it easy for children to just throw their toys in the right place when they are finished playing. You can get shelving so that the child could just slide their larger toys onto them. You can get chests of drawers and even a dresser that looks like a nice piece of furniture but will accommodate the toys. If there is a closet, then you can place the toys in there. You can buy shelving systems or other sets of drawers to accommodate more toys. You can also store the toys in clear plastic bins so that the children can see through to what is inside.
Go through the playroom with the children and explain exactly where everything goes. If they are old enough, you can also have them help you organize the playroom so that they will have some decision-making power into where things go.
Talk to the children about why it’s so important to keep the room organized. Talk to them about how they will not lose their toys or accidentally break them by stepping on them. When things are cluttered, toys and games get ruined when small pieces get separated from the rest of the product.
Make a rule that the children can only play with one thing at a time. When they are finished with it, require them to put it back before they take another thing out to play with. If they do not follow up with this, then remove that toy for a little while.
It is important to keep the playroom organized. Make it a routine with your children and they will keep up with it.
