Target has wonderful clearance. At any given time, they have a variety of items on clearance throughout the store. There are different ways that you can take advantage of such deals. The following are tips for shopping clearance at Target.
Target starts with smaller discounts and deepens them as the days go on
Target usually starts its clearance at 30%, but sometimes they do 15% and sometimes they may go right to 50%. As the time passes, they continue to deepen the clearance and you can get better deals. After 50% they usually go to 75%. A lot of times they will go all the way to 90% after the 75%. You can shop earlier for the better selection, but by waiting you might be able to get a better deal.
Target has a great after-holiday clearance
After pretty much every holiday for which they have seasonal items, they run a clearance. Usually they immediately put the items on clearance the day after the holiday. Oftentimes, they start the holiday clearance right at 50%. Some of the holiday items are very clearly tied to the holiday (i.e. Christmas ornaments) and they would be good to purchase for the following year. Oftentimes, however, there are items that are considered holiday items but might be good for the entire year. An example might be some wrapping paper that is neutral but they have packaged for the holidays. Look for what you can store and what you can use now.
Sometimes the clearance is in its own section and sometimes it is scattered throughout the store
The easiest way to shop clearance at Target is when they have it together in one section. They will usually do this after the holidays or when they have a lot of items. Other times you can find clearance randomly throughout the store in the normal spots. Yet other times they put them on endcaps. Look for them in all of these ways.
Different Target stores have different clearances
Some things do remain consistent between the stores. You will always see Christmas items on clearance after Christmas, for instance. However, the different Target stores will sometimes differ in other items that they put on clearance. They will also differ on how much clearance they have and how quickly they bring the prices down.
You can shop their clearance online
Target also has a lot of clearance items online. You can even go straight to the items that are 75% off or more. A lot of times they also offer free or low cost shipping (with restrictions). They do not always have the same selection or clearance as in the store, however, so you will need to look around.
