There is no reason that you have to have a plain bulletin board background. There are many ways that you can jazz it up to make it more visually appealing and hopefully draw the students in. Consider the following ideas.
Cover it with wrapping paper
A lot of wrapping paper are very bright. It is also relatively inexpensive and you may be able to fill up your board with just one or two rolls of paper. You will have many different options. They have plain wrapping paper, wrapping paper with different designs and some with themes. You can look online to find an even greater selection.
Use wallpaper
You can find a little inexpensive wallpaper to line the bulletin board background. This can be very pretty and stand out greatly. You might be able to get a good deal on some short pieces if they are at the end of a roll. You can find these at stores such as Home Depot and also at many sources online. Obviously you only need very little.
Line it with fabric
Fabric can be a great way to make a bulletin board background. It can make it look very rich, especially if you use something like velvet. Although some fabrics can be a little pricey, it is something that you can use over and over again. They make many different types of fabric so you are likely to find something that matches your bulletin board. You can also just use solid colors. If you do not want to buy fabric you can even just use a sheet.
Line it with photographs
Photographs can add a lot to a bulletin board. They can be very visually appealing and draw in the eye. You can line it with a lot of smaller photographs or some big ones. Of course you can also make the background one huge photograph. These can be brightly colored, in black and white or faded.
Let the children color a background
If the children are involved in the creation of the bulletin board, then they may be more likely to pay attention to it. If they are very young, then you can put up a white sheet of paper and then have them come up with crayons and color them. If they are older, then they can make more complicated drawings.
A bulletin board background can go a long way in how the bulletin board looks as a whole no matter what is displayed on the board. Consider the above unique ideas when designing your board.
