Wedding Toast Ideas for the best Man
(409 Words)
You are the best man and play an important role in the wedding. You now have a duty to make a toast for your friend, but you are not exactly sure of what to say. There are various ways to make a toast personalized and special.
Slide show
You can include a slide show as part of your toast. Include special times of the groom when he was younger. This can bring back a lot of fond memories. You can explain each photograph. Some can be sweet, others can be fun and some can be just wild. Make sure not to embarrass him too much.
Hail the groom
You want the wedding guests to knowhow special the groom is. You can impart this by telling some special or important stories about amazing things he has done. For instance, if he has volunteered or helped you or others, then you can talk about this. Give examples of selfless acts or ways that he has overcome adversity. Share something sweet he did for the bride.
Talk about your feelings
Some men are not comfortable talking about their own feelings during a speech. If you are, however, that can make an excellent way to toast this important person in your life. You can talk about what he means to you. For instance, you may say that he is like a brother.
Include a funny story
It may be fun to include something a little humorous about the groom. Of course do not overdo it, but you can discuss a prank that you played or something you did as children (if you knew each other then).
Discuss your views on his relationship
You can talk about what it was like when he first met his bride. If he came to you and said “She is the one!” then this may be fun to say. Talk about how you saw that he cared for her, and the signs that let you know that this was real love. Share how happy you are for the relationship.
There is no one right or wrong thing to say at a wedding toast. Speak from the heart but do not embarrass him. The best speech may contain not one of the above elements but a variety of different portions to pique happy and heartfelt emotions. Practice your speech beforehand so that you can give a memorable toast at one of the most important days of the groom’s life.
