When you run outdoors, it can be much more fun. The scenery is always changing. You can also vary your routine by running in different places. For instance, you can choose different parks in which to run.

If you join a gym, you will have to pay the monthly cost. You may also have to deal with the hassle of waiting your turn to use machines or having a time limit. You will have to spend the time to drive to the gym whereas you might be able to run right outside your own home.
Some people feel that they can get a better workout by running outdoors. You have to face things like wind resistance, which can make it more difficult. You may feel like you get a better workout.
