You can hear it spoken and be forced to speak it to others. Of course, you will likely use other methods as described below.

These range from simple and inexpensive leisure classes at the local community college hoping to teach you a few words to full day programs with the goal of fluency. There are many different books that can help you to learn a foreign language. These will often have vocabulary words and lessons just like a textbook one would utilize in school. You can also make your own study materials. For instance, you can make yourself flash cards so that you can practice vocabulary.
